Our older clients have been patiently waiting for the past few weeks for the work on the Lunch Club Kitchen to be completed. We are pleased to announce that we are nearly there! The work was made possible through receipt of a grant from Merton Council, and is long overdue! We’ve been cooking up lunches in a kitchen that was built in 1971 and still getting a 5 for Food Hygiene so we think we all deserve a boost! We hit some problems in the initial stages – discovering a hole that we didn’t know was there, some rusted gas piping, and an unsuitable ceiling – but we are planning to open on Tuesday 29th July. We did see all of our older customers last Friday at the fantastic The Elixir of Love performance that launched this operatic company’s summer season. It was dramatic and very enjoyable – so good to see all of our old friends enjoying themselves.
We very much look forward to resuming services as usual, and even better and livelier, from 29 July onwards.
