Mercy works in the Lunch Club kitchen with Vivian, making sure that the daily lunches are provided in a timely fashion and in welcoming dining room setting. She helps to serve the food and to ensure that the stores are kept tidy and clean.

Support Worker, Step Forward
Deniz works in the Step Forward team providing support for clients with queries about benefits, housing and debt as well as practical advice. She also leads on volunteer gardening work, growing food, and food bank.

Jenny Allison

Jenny has worked in the Step Forward team since May 2005 when it was not even called that! She has successfully led this team to encompass support for families with babies, children and young people as well as vulnerable adults.

Vivian Antwi
Cook, Lunch Club for Older People
Vivian is our Lunch Club cook, she is qualified to Level 3 in Food Safety (Catering) and is also a qualified Care Worker. She cooks a two-course meal served daily to the Lunch Club members making use of fresh ingredients from a variety of sources.
Ann Brassington
Development Assistant
Ann started at Commonside as a volunteer and has, since then, worked in the Step Forward and Lunch Club teams. Currently, she is mentoring one of our junior managers and provides HR, Training, Safeguarding, Legal, Policy and Governance coordination in the Director’s office as well as overseeing our Volunteer Programme.

Lindsey Harding
Community Support Worker, Step Forward
Lindsey works in the Step Forward team and is a part of our welcome team in the New Horizon Centre. She helps with initial enquiries as well as managing bookings and develops relationships with local supporters and sponsors.

Steve is responsible for the New Horizon Centre building, public safety, health and safety and risk management. He leads a team of caretakers who work together to made visitors’ experiences as positive as possible.
