Coronavirus Support

  1. Thank you to everyone who has worked so hard to get us through this crisis.  Thank you for everything you freely gave so that we could all help those most in need.
  2. We are sending our heartfelt sympathies to everyone who has suffered and lost a loved one over this difficult time.
  3. We are opening back up again as a community centre, slowly and safely.  We won’t be able to say ‘yes’ to everything you want, but we will always listen and do our best to bring Commonside back to full strength at the heart of the community to provide the community business that we know is so valued in Pollards Hill and the surrounding areas.

Free outdoor sports and fitness sessions

We have been lucky to win support from the Moat Community Initiative Fund for Pollards Hill to run free outdoor sports and fitness sessions for primary school aged children.  We worked with Clem from Head4Goal to run these.  You can see how delighted the children are to be outside and exercising.  Thank you to all who helped with this project!

We are also pleased to announce that our Pollards PASS activities, with Fulham Football Foundation have restarted on Monday evenings at the Harris Academy Merton Sports Centre.  We welcome new members – please see this leaflet for additional booking instructions due to Covid-19 regulations

New Horizon Film Club

To all our Partners in Merton’s Community Space Sector!

We hope you are all coping well with re-opening and applying the COVID-secure guidelines. As you plan your way through the next few months, we would like to offer a small group community screening of a film of your choosing.

We will be offering a choice of 12 thought-provoking and enjoyable films to six community venues in Merton from May to September 2021.

We will work with you to ensure that you are able to run the screening safely and may be able to help with technical support or advice. The number of people you can have in your audience will depend on the size and nature of the space you want to use, and we can offer advice here too. There is no cost to your organisation although the terms of our license mean that no charges may be made to people attending the screening.

In return, we will ask you to promote on-going membership of the New Horizon Film Club, which will continue to run on- and off-line and from September 2021 will offer some paid-for services.

We look forward to hearing from you.
